Eligibility Criteria

Gauhati High Court Recruitment 2025

Nationality: Indian (as per Articles 5–6 of the Constitution)  

Age Limit (as on 31 July 2025): 18 to 40 years

Age relaxations: OBC/MOBC: +3 years; SC/ST (P/H): +5 years; PwBD: +10 years  

To be eligible, one must possess a graduate qualification in any stream from a UGC-certified university.

Computer Skills: Must hold at least a 3‑month certificate in computer knowledge, plus proficiency in Assamese language  

Employment Exchange: Must register with the Assam State Employment Exchange and provide the registration number  

Application Fee

General / OBC / MOBC: ₹500

SC / ST (P) / ST (H): ₹250

PwBD: Exempted from fee  

Salary & Allowances

Pay Scale: ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 per month (Grade Pay ₹6,200), along with allowances like DA, HRA, and TA as per rules  

Selection Process
  1. Written Test (120 marks, 2 hours):

General English (50)

General Knowledge & Computer Knowledge (30)

General Aptitude (20)

Assamese (20) – Qualifying only (min. 40% threshold)  

  1. Computer Skill Test (35 marks):

Typing speed & accuracy in a word-processing test (20 marks)

Proficiency in word-processor and spreadsheet tasks (15 marks)

Candidates shortlisted at 1:5 ratio from written test proceed to this round  

  1. Viva‑Voce / Interview (15 marks):

Final selection based on aggregate out of 150 marks (Written + Skill + Viva)

Only top 3 candidates (per district) from combined test scores are called for interview at 1:3 ratio
